Builders Square was a chain of home improvement stores in the United States that existed from 1984 to 1999. Founded as a subsidiary of Kmart Corporation, Builders Square grew to 177 stores at its peak in 1993. Kmart spun off the chain in 1997, and it was merged with Hechinger Company. Hechinger filed for bankruptcy soon after the acquisition, and all Builders Square stores closed by the end of 1999.
