The Dammtorwache is a small building between Dammtordamm and the north entrance of the Stephansplatz subway station at the west end of the [[Bridge_Dag-Hammarskjöld|Dag Hammarskjöld Bridge]], which remains after partial demolition in summer 2020. Unlike the surviving classical guard buildings at Millern- and Steintor, it never served as a gate guard, but was built as a police station in neo-Renaissance style with columns, capitals and triangular gables in 1878/79, long after the night gate was lifted, and was listed as a historic monument in 1972. Today it is used for gastronomic purposes<ref>[https://es.gyaanipedia.com/wiki/Dammtorwache Dammtorwache] en Gyaanipedia Spanish</ref><ref>https://www.hamburg.de/sehenswuerdigkeiten-denkmaeler/4356444/dammtor-denkmaeler/</ref>
