Grand River Avenue is a major northwest-southeast commercial road that begins in the city of Detroit, Michigan. It is one of the six primary thoroughfares radiating from downtown Detroit. West of the intersection with Cass Avenue and Middle Street, Grand River Avenue carries M-5. With its diagonal nature, Grand River Avenue is considered a north-south road in Detroit's addressing system.
