Kmart decided to convert this location to Builders Square after they did a market study that determined a home improvement store was better suited there.
Builders Square closed all their Northeast Ohio locations in 1999.
Tops Markets opened in a portion of the building on August 30th 2000 and also built a gas station outparcel.
Due to declining sales Tops closed the location in 2004.
It has remained vacant ever since.
