Sears #1297 was a Sears department store located at North East Mall, 1101 Melbourne Road in Hurst, Texas.[1] The store opened on August 3, 1978,[2] and was one of the first department stores in the world designed with computer software.[3] In 1985, the store would be remodeled to the "Store of the Future" layout.[4] The store would be remodeled again in 1994, with a grand reopening ceremony on November 19.[5] The store closed on October 27, 2019.[6]
