On November 29, 2021 around 10:30pm, the building caught on fire and was later deemed a total loss. According to Trussville Fire Chief Tim Shotts, the fire was caused by a faulty charger wire going to an electronic device. 111 South Chalkville Road was a restaurant building located in Trussville, Alabama. Originally built in 1977 for Hardee's restaurant #1501376, the 2,939 square-foot building would later house Kemp's Kitchen before being destroyed by a fire in November of 2021.

History

Hardee's #1501376 (1977-2019)

Hardee's opened at the site in 1977,[1] with a remodel occuring around 2013.[2] The restaurant closed permanently on December 18, 2019 alongside 5 other locations in the central Alabama area.[3]

Kemp's Kitchen (2020-2021)
