On April 2, 2013, Del Taco announced that a location would open at the site; the restaurant, which was the first one in Alabama, held its grand opening the following day, being the first of 20 locations that were planned due to an agreement with Larry Blumberg & Associates (LBA).[1] Del Taco closed suddenly on March 24, 2016, with LBA Community Affairs Director Robert Goldsmith noting that the restaurant didn't sustain the profitability the company hoped it would.[2]
