In 1977, the store would be renamed to "Albertsons", due to conflicts with Albertsons and Skaggs Drug Centers that resulted in the split of the Skaggs Albertsons partnership.[3] In 1986, the store would be remodeled, with a grand re-opening ceremony on April 1.[4] The store closed on or around November 1, 2001,[5] making it the second Albertsons to close in Corpus Christi.
