In 2005, starting on July 15 of that year, as part of a repaving project along Fort Street between [[Goddard Road (Lincoln Park, Michigan|Goddard Road]] and [[Schaefer Highway (Detroit, Michigan)|Schaefer Highway]], the curve at [[Champaign Road (Lincoln Park, Michigan)|Champaign Road]] was completely rebuilt.
