==History==
Fort Street within Wyandotte was widened into a "superhighway" boulevard in 1931 north of [[Eureka Road (Wyandotte, Michigan)|Eureka Road]], and in 1940, between Eureka and the segment of Fort Street that was renamed [[Quarry Road (Wyandotte, Michigan)|Quarry Road]] at the same time. This placed the western municipal boundary within the northbound traffic lane. To remedy this, on August 31, 1955, the city annexed a small strip, approximately 50 feet wide, of Ecorse Township, placing the new western municipal boundary within the median.<ref>https://www.southgatehistory.org/archive/Ecorse%20Township/xEcorseTwsp-09.jpg</ref>
