Fort Street is a major north-south road, part of which is in the city of Wyandotte, Michigan. For its entire length in the city of Wyandotte, Fort Street carries M-85.

Fort Street within Wyandotte was widened into a "superhighway" boulevard in 1931 north of Eureka Road, and in 1940 between Eureka and the segment of Fort Street that was renamed Quarry Road at the same time. This placed the western municipal boundary of Wyandotte within the northbound traffic lane. To remedy this, on August 31, 1955, the city annexed a small strip, approximately 50 feet wide, of Ecorse Township between Baumey Street and Quarry, placing the new western municipal boundary within the median.[1] Several months later, on April 5, 1956, the street began carrying M-85.[2]

The median of Fort Street forms the western municipal boundary of Wyandotte, and all Wyandotte addresses are on the east side of Fort Street.
