Kmart #7296 was a Kmart discount department store located at Northshore Plaza, 1400 Wildcat Drive in Portland, Texas. The store opened on November 13, 1980 as the 134th Kmart in Texas.[1] In 1991, the store would expand into the former auto center from a Group 7 mini Kmart with the renovations completed on November of that year.[2] In 1999, the store would be converted to Big Kmart with the renovations completed on June of that year.[3] The store ultimately closed on April 8, 2018,[4] and was torn down in 2020 for shopping center redevelopment.[5]
