Kohl's Food Stores was a chain of supermarkets primarily located in Wisconsin, with additional locations in Illinois. Founded in 1946, the company expanded into Kohl's department stores in 1962.[1] Kohl's sold the Food Stores to A&P in 1983.[2] A&P closed all of the chain's locations in 2003. The chain was notable for its architecture, as most of its stores were built with distinctive arched, semicircular ceilings. A number of Kohl's Food Store buildings remain intact and recognizable today.
