Sears #1017 was a Sears department store located at 4201 Main Street in Houston, Texas.[1] The store opened on November 16, 1939 replacing a location at 509 Lincoln Street,[2] and was the first store in Houston to have an escalator. In 1995, the store would be remodeled, with a grand reopening ceremony on March 4.[3] The store closed on January 28, 2018.[4]
