Hey, can you add the bot flag to your account until you are done with the automated edits? The edits been filling the global changes feed. Thanks. LakesideMiners (talk) 20:14, 26 February 2020 (UTC)

Thank you for letting me know, I have now added the bot flag to my account. I will continue the automated edits now, so let me know if you have any more concerns. Reschultzed (talk) 21:26, 26 February 2020 (UTC)
Per request. About what Miners said. Although his account has the Bot flag it still appears in the recent changes to in the recent changes channel of the wikis in #Miraheze-feed on IRC. Don't worry, the failure of the Bot flag is a system error and not yours (it happened with my puppet account on my wiki). I will explain.
It seems that after giving the bot flag to an account, you should wait until an hour or more before doing a post-flag edit. This is so that the system will update and know the change of user permissions. What you should do is remove the Bot flag. After a few minutes or an hour or more, grant the Bot flag and wait another hour or more to make the edits you want to make. So I did it with the difference that they had a lapse of 12 or 24 hours (between the granting of the flag to the first post-flag edition).
I forgot, this bug only occurs when doing automatic or semi-automatic edits (with ReplaceText, AutoWikiBrowser, etc.). Editions do not appear in the normal use of the Bot flag (1 edition per minute for example)
I just want to make it clear that we don't want to pressure him or anything. There are some volunteers on the #Miraheze-feed channel who check recent changes for vandalism or other reasons and sometimes the automatic edits prevent edits from appearing because the RC bot doesn't read all of them. Sorry for the inconvenience and greetings. --Hispano76 (talk) 01:52, 2 March 2020 (UTC)
Thank you. So, just to be clear, I will now remove the bot flag, wait at least an hour, add the bot flag again, wait at least an hour, and only then return to automated editing. If this isn't exactly right, or if anything else goes wrong, please let me know. Reschultzed (talk) 02:25, 2 March 2020 (UTC)
I have now followed these instructions and will start automated edits again. Please let me know ASAP if there continue to be problems – I really don't want to inconvenience anyone, especially on other wikis, with this setup process. Reschultzed (talk) 05:32, 2 March 2020 (UTC)
Well, like you asked me to let you know. It still didn't work out and I think it's just AWB. It could be because it keeps the session in AutoWikibrowser at the time the flag is set.
I haven't tried it and I'm just saying it but I should log out of Autowikibrowser before setting the flag and wait a long enough time at least until editing. It probably worked for me because I waited at least 12 hours for other reasons and maybe in that time it would update itself. I'm sorry to take up your time and I apologize for the inconvenience. You'll decide.
Or the simplest, temporarily modify ManageWiki, so that only registered Users read the pages. First, giving the "Read" right to Users and removing the "Read" right to anonymous ones. This will prevent the wiki from appearing in the channel.
Greetings and sorry.--Hispano76 (talk) 23:06, 2 March 2020 (UTC)
Thank you. I have just logged out of, restarted, and logged back into AWB and it now appears to explicitly recognize the bot flag in the bottom status bar (I don't think it was doing that before). I have also set reading pages as a right for users, but I don't see any option to remove it as a right for unregistered users. Please let me know if this has not resolved the problem. AutoWikiBrowser

I've noticed this wiki a while back and decided to contribute. Since this wiki mainly relies on automation, it'd be best to step up and use AutoWikiBrowser on this wiki. I'm no newbie - I do automation jobs for plenty of other wikis and am familiar with AutoWikiBrowser. However:

  1. It'd be best to ask for permissions to use AutoWikiBrowser rather than edit articles with it out of the blue.
  2. AutoWikiBrowser is not working on Miraheze wikis for me - don't get me wrong, it totally did earlier. Here's the main error message that comes up:
API returned the following error: 'The "login" module requires a POST request.'
so I'm not sure why it's running fine for you. I'll try using a different account and changing my password for that

Anyway, good work on the wiki! Dibbydib (talk) 08:26, 17 June 2020 (UTC)

Thank you for letting me know. I think I had the same problem when I first started using AWB on here, but I can't remember at the moment how I got it working. I'll see if I can find it again. As you can see in the discussion above, I did discuss large-scale automation with Miraheze staff members, and while I admit I should've asked them before starting, they seem to be satisfied with my approach now. If you're asking to use AWB on this wiki, I'd be happy to help you out and give you the necessary permissions, but I'd like to know more about what you'd like to do first. Good luck! --Reschultzed (talk) 17:04, 17 June 2020 (UTC)
The main project I have in mind is to fill up redlinks. This includes adding categories and lists for common locations (such as Edmonds, Washington) in places, as well as any other fixes I stumble across. Dibbydib (talk) 01:17, 18 June 2020 (UTC)
That's definitely a good idea. I've made a few small changes to the example you created, which I would ask you to consider using in the future. First of all, any Bluepages article which has the same title and subject as a Wikipedia article should have the Summary template at the top, as a reminder not to duplicate that site's existing labor. Secondly, I think what you're trying to do with the list of locations might be better served by the category system, so I've added some categories to demonstrate what that should look like. Let me know any of your thoughts or suggestions, and let me know if you'd like me to get started on giving your account bot permissions. Thanks, Reschultzed (talk) 01:56, 18 June 2020 (UTC)

Visual Editor

Can you enable visual editor for the wiki? I know how to use the current one but the text can become hard to read real quick. --Monirec (talk) 19:30, 18 June 2020 (UTC)

Done, thank you. --Reschultzed (talk) 19:33, 18 June 2020 (UTC)
That was quick, I'll check if it works later. Thanks!--Monirec (talk) 19:38, 18 June 2020 (UTC)

Route proposal

On User:Monirec/Sandbox i created hypothetical color coding for street's route sections, can you check it out? --Monirec (talk) 13:22, 27 June 2020 (UTC)
