916 West Jefferson Avenue is a restaurant building on West Jefferson Avenue on the far north side of Trenton, Michigan. The building was constructed in 1948[2] to house a relocation of the Sibley Gardens Italian restaurant from 835 West Jefferson, and the restaurant has remained in the building since.

Sam and Mary Piunti, who purchased the Sibley Gardens Italian restaurant at 835 West Jefferson Avenue in 1944, were soon forced to relocate the restaurant as it was in the footprint of a new steel plant that was being constructed by Detroit-based McLouth Steel. A building was constructed at 916 West Jefferson in 1948, and in 1949, Sibley Gardens relocated to the newly-erected building.[3]
Starting in the early 1950s, other owners took over Sibley Gardens as both Sam and Mary were also being employed by restaurants in Wyandotte, though Sam and Mary returned in 1961. Menu updates were, at one time, provided by Andrea Papp. Sam continues to run Sibley Gardens, alongside Pam, Nick, and Jake Piunti.[3]
Incidents[edit | edit source]
- On October 22, 2009, a stereo was stolen out of a 2007 GMC Yukon that was parked at the restaurant.[4]
