FedMart (later stylized as FedMart*) was a discount department store chain that was started by Sol Price in 1954. In the decades following, the chain grew to a company and opened stores in Arizona, New Mexico, and Texas. Most of these stores were either former Globe Shopping City, Two Guys, or White Front stores. In 1975, Hugo Mann, founder of German retailer Wertkauf, bought two-thirds of FedMart. He fired Price from FedMart. In 1982, the chain would later go out of business, and after the closures of the stores, Target Corporation[1] and Ralph's would lease the buildings and open new stores.
