Kmart #4386 was a Kmart discount department store located at 990 West Algonquin Road in Arlington Heights, Illinois. The store opened October 28, 1971 and closed June 2, 2002.[1][2] Last-minute $50,000 bond paid to community organization to prevent them from blocking the Oct. 28 opening, after the store built a 20-ft-wide buffer zone from a nearby residential development that was not considered properly hilly or forested[3]
