Kmart 4388
Kmart #4388 was a Kmart discount department store located at 8801 Research Boulevard in Austin, Texas.[1] The store opened on September 30, 1971 as one of the first two Kmarts in the city of Austin, one of two stores to open that day for a total of 452 Kmarts overall, and was tied with Kmart 4365 for the 37th Kmart in Texas.[2] In 1985, the store would be remodeled, with a grand reopening ceremony on October 16.[3] The store closed on or around March 7, 1990, when it was replaced by Kmart 3771.[4][5]
