In 2002, the store's parking lot would be the site of a controversial drag racing raid in which hundreds of innocent people were arrested by Houston police, despite the fact that no racing was taking place.[3] The store closed on April 13, 2003,[4] and was demolished for The Home Depot 6558 and a strip mall.
