The store opened on March 8, 1979 as one of 15 stores to open that day for a total of 1,511 Kmart's overall, and was also tied with four other Texas stores for the 97th Kmart in Texas.[1] Between 1989 and 1995, the store would be expanded from a Group 7 mini Kmart. By the end of 1998, the store would be converted to Big Kmart. The store ultimately closed on June 2, 2002.[2][3]
