Sears #2027 was a Sears department store located at C.E. Coleman Building, 1319 Leopard Street in Corpus Christi, Texas.[1] The store opened on November 24, 1928.[2] Over the store's lifetime, the store would be remodeled and or expanded, first on August 19, 1936,[3] between 1939 and 1946, again on April 8, 1948,[4] again on June 10, 1954,[5] and finally in 1958. On February 16, 1964, the store was damaged by fire and would be closed while repairs were underway.[6] A grand reopening ceremony of the remodeled and refurbished store was held on April 28.[7] The store closed on August 3, 1974, when it was replaced by Sears 1217.[8]
