Sears #2497 was a Sears department store located at Sunrise Mall, 2320 North Expressway 83 in Brownsville, Texas.[1] The store opened on March 5, 1979, replacing Sears 2397.[2] In 1996, the store would be remodeled, with a grand reopening ceremony on November 3.[3] The store would be remodeled again in 2003, with a grand reopening ceremony on November 8.[4] The store closed on January 5, 2020.[5]
