Tri City National Bank is a Federal Reserve System member bank based in Oak Creek, Wisconsin. Founded in 1963 as a Wisconsin state bank, Tri City became federally chartered in 1990. As of 2021, it operates 34 branch locations in southeastern Wisconsin.[1]
Tri City State Bank was founded in 1963 in Oak Creek, Wisconsin. By 1969, it had become federally chartered and changed its name to Tri City National Bank of Oak Creek. Beginning in 1970, five separate legal entities throughout the Milwaukee area were established with the Tri City name, in Brookfield, Brown Deer, Hales Corners, Menomonee Falls, and West Allis. In August 1990, all of these separate banks were officially acquired by Tri City National Bank of Oak Creek, which became simply Tri City National Bank.[1]
After the failure of the Bank of Elmwood on October 23, 2009, Tri City acquired its five locations in Racine and Kenosha.[3] Tri City had previously expressed interest in buying one or more branches from the failing bank, but was unable to get a deal to go through before FDIC agents shuttered it and auctioned its assets to Tri City. It was the first bank Tri City had acquired in its history.[4]
