Venture #123, also known as Texas City, was a Venture discount department store located at Texas City Bay, 3401 Palmer Highway in Texas City, Texas.[1] The store opened on July 19, 1993 as one of the first ten Venture stores in Texas,[2] with a formal grand opening ceremony on July 25.[3] In March 1996, the store was temporarily converted to an outlet store during a corporate reorganization,[4] and would reopen as a department store on June 6.[5] The store closed on August 3, 1997,[6] making it the first Venture to permanently close in Texas.
