Venture #139, also known as the Meyerland Venture store, was a Venture discount department store located at 300 Meyerland Plaza Mall in Houston, Texas.[1] The store opened on or around October 10, 1994, followed by a formal grand opening ceremony on October 16.[2] It was tied with Venture 143 and Venture 131 for the 10th Venture in the Houston area, and the 17th Venture in Texas. The store closed on or around September 3, 1997.[3] Prior to Venture, the site was previously occupied by W.T. Grant and several smaller tenants.[4]
