Venture #79, also known as Elgin, was a Venture discount department store located at Fox River Plaza, 450 Airport Road in Elgin, Illinois.[1] The store opened on April 29, 1985, with a formal grand opening ceremony on May 5.[2] In March 1996, the store was temporarily converted to an outlet store during a corporate reorganization, and would reopen as a department store on November 2.[3] The store closed on July 15, 1998.[4]
