Casey's #3788 is a Casey's convenience store and gas station located at 1306 4 Mile Road in Caledonia, Wisconsin.[1] The location opened on February 20, 2020, making it the fourth Casey's in Racine County and the first east of Interstate 94.[2]
After the store was first proposed in January 2018, local residents protested its construction, arguing that Casey's would create traffic and be too well-lit at night. After several months of negotiation, the Caledonia Village Board allowed the store to be built, on the condition that it would only operate between 5 am and 10 pm. Construction began in late November 2018, but after the land was graded, construction halted only a few days later.[3] The store was originally planned to open in May 2019, but by July of that year, no further progress had been made at the construction site, although the company was approved for a liquor license in June.[4] Construction resumed in October, with the store's expected opening date pushed back to late 2020.[5] The location ultimately opened earlier than expected on February 20. A grand opening ceremony was held on March 6.[2]
