Kmart #4259 was a Kmart discount department store located at Kmart Plaza, 4812 South Freeway in Fort Worth, Texas.[1] The store opened on August 15, 1968 as the first Kmart in the city of Fort Worth, the 20th Kmart in Texas, and one of two stores to open that day for a total of 243 Kmarts overall.[2] The store ultimately closed on August 29, 1995.[3] Prior to Kmart, the site was previously occupied by the Southside Drive-In Theatre.[4]
