On December 8, 1994, Russell William Tucker allegedly shot and killed security guard Maurice Travone Williams and injured two police officers after he was accused of shoplifting clothing from the Super Kmart store. Tucker was convicted of murder and sentenced to death in 1996, and was days from being executed in 2000 when his lawyer admitted to intentionally sabotaging his client's case.
