Kmart #7411 was a Kmart discount department store located at 3502 Palmer Highway in Texas City, Texas. The store opened November 13, 1980[1] and closed November 1997.[2] In 1981, an employee at the store sued Kmart after the store's management searched through her personal locker while looking for a missing watch. She was initially awarded $108,000 in damages, but that decision was reversed by the Texas Court of Appeals in 1984, which found that the managers' actions would not be "highly offensive to a reasonable person" and so did not violate the employee's right to privacy.[3]
