Kmart #9744 was a Kmart discount department store located at Lake Plaza, 104 Northwest Parkway in Azle, Texas. The store opened on or around July 16, 1981. In 1992, the store was expanded and remodeled from a 9500 series mini Kmart, with the garden center moved from back to in front of the store, followed by a grand re-opening ceremony on November 11 of that year.[1] It was converted to Big Kmart by the end of 1998, along with 18 other Dallas-Fort Worth area stores. The store ultimately closed on April 13, 2003.[2][3]
