Kmart #9744 was a Kmart discount department store located at Lake Plaza, 104 Northwest Parkway in Azle, Texas. The store opened on or around July 16, 1981. In 1992, the store was expanded and remodeled from a 9500 series mini Kmart, with the garden center moved from back to in front of the store, followed by a grand re-opening ceremony on November 11 of that year.[1] It was converted to Big Kmart in 1998, with a grand re-opening on August 16 of that year.[2] The store ultimately closed on April 13, 2003.[3][4]
