Kmart #9744 was a Kmart discount department store located at Lake Plaza, 104 Northwest Parkway in Azle, Texas. The store opened on or around July 16, 1981, predating Lake Plaza which opened in 1986. In 1992, the store would be expanded and remodeled from a 9500 series mini Kmart, with a grand re-opening ceremony on November 11 of that year.[1] In 1998, the store would be converted to Big Kmart, with a grand re-opening ceremony on August 16 of that year.[2] The store ultimately closed on April 13, 2003.[3][4]
