McDonald's #79 is a McDonald's restaurant located at 2402 South Park Street, Madison, Wisconsin. The location includes a drive-through.[1]
History[edit | edit source]
The location first opened at 2201 South Park Street, next to the Fairway Golf Range, on August 23, 1957.[2][3][4] In October 1970, it was announced that McDonald's would move the restaurant after its lease on the existing site ended. The new location would be across the street, at 2402 South Park Street, which at that time was the site of Tall Trees Trailer Park. Residents of the trailer park protested their eviction, many of them having moved in semi-permanently only months prior.[5]
