Publix #1337, also known as Publix at Marketplace at Pelican Bay, is a Publix supermarket located at Marketplace at Pelican Bay, at 8833 North Tamiami Trail in Naples, Florida.[1] The store opened on October 21, 2010.[2] The store was the first instance of Publix's hybrid retail concept, combining the standard Publix supermarket with their GreenWise selection of natural foods.[3] It was also the first implementation of their long-running Sienna/"Classy Market 3.0" décor package. Plans for the store, alongside the concept, were first announced in August 2009.[4][5]
On opening day, the store was a scene of a protest involving working conditions of tomato farmers which supplied the Publix chain.[6]
