In 1918, a large brick schoolhouse was constructed on the site of the Joseph Brondie family farm, named the Goodell School. The school closed in 1971 and was demolished.
In the late 1970's, the Great Atlantic & Pacific Tea Company built an A&P supermarket on the Goodell School site. The store was rebranded as a Farmer Jack in 1993, as A&P was in the process of rebranding all of their A&P-branded stores in the state of Michigan into the Farmer Jack brand. Farmer Jack closed in mid-February 2004 along with 12 other area locations.
CVS Pharmacy 8131 was built on the property in the summer of 2007. When it opened later that year, it consolidated two other CVS drugstores in the city of Lincoln Park--the former CVS Pharmacy 8131 on Fort Street north of Southfield Road and CVS Pharmacy 8018 in the Lincoln Park Plaza.
