Venture #123, also known as the Bay Center Venture store, was a Venture discount department store located at Texas City Bay, 3401 Palmer Highway in Texas City, Texas.[1] The store opened on July 19, 1993 as one of the first ten Venture stores in Texas,[2] followed by a formal grand opening ceremony on July 25.[3] The store was temporarily closed in March 1996 during a corporate reorganization,[4] and re-opened on June 6.[5] The store ultimately closed on August 3, 1997,[6] making it the first Venture to permanently close in Texas.[7]
