Venture #139, also known as the Meyerland Venture store, was a Venture discount department store located at 300 Meyerland Plaza Mall in Houston, Texas. The store opened on or around October 10, 1994 as one of three stores to open that day for a total of 114 overall, and was tied with Venture 143 and Venture 131 for the 10th Venture in the Houston area. A formal grand opening ceremony was held on October 16.[1] The store closed on or around September 3, 1997.[2] Prior to Venture, the site was previously occupied by W.T. Grant and several smaller tenants.[3]
