3807 Fort Street is a former retail building on the southeast corner of Fort Street and Riverbank Street in Lincoln Park, Michigan. The building was constructed in 1946[2] to house the Jumbo Market convenience/meat store, which operated in the building until 2019.

History

Jumbo Market opened at the address in 1946. Permits for building additions were filed in 1976 and 1978. A false mansard structure was constructed on the storefront in 1977, and, in turn, a permit to place an awning over the false mansard was filed in January 2002.[2] The store permanently closed in the fall of 2019.

Incidents

  • On May 2, 2011, at about 5:15 p.m., a Huffy 15-speed mountain bike left unattended by the owner was stolen from the front of the store.[3]
  • On May 22, 2011, at about 3:30 p.m., another mountain bike was stolen from the front of the store.[4]
