The store opened on March 11, 1976 as the 55th Kmart in Texas, and one of four stores to open that day for a total of 948 Kmart's overall.[1] In 1992, the store would be renovated with a grand re-opening ceremony on May 31.[2] The store ultimately closed on August 29, 1995.[3][4]
