Kmart #9744 was a Kmart discount department store located at Lake Plaza, 104 Northwest Parkway in Azle, Texas.[1] The store opened on July 16, 1981, predating Lake Plaza which opened in 1986. In 1992, the store would be remodeled and expanded from a 9500 series mini Kmart, with a grand re-opening ceremony on November 11.[2] In 1998, the store would be converted to Big Kmart, with a grand re-opening ceremony on August 16.[3] The store ultimately closed on April 13, 2003.[4][5]
