Walmart Discount Store #536 was a Walmart discount department store located at San Jacinto Shopping Center, 465 North Judge Ely Boulevard in Abilene, Texas.[1] The store opened on or around November 1, 1987 replacing a previous location at Radford Hills Shopping Center,[2] with a formal grand opening ceremony on November 17.[3] The store closed on August 23, 2005, when it was replaced by Walmart Supercenter 536.[4]
Radford Hills Shopping Center (1983-1987)
The original Walmart Discount Store #536 was a Walmart discount department store located at Radford Hills Shopping Center, 841 North Judge Ely Boulevard in Abilene, Texas.[1] The store opened on April 26, 1983,[5] with a formal grand opening ceremony on May 3.[6] The store closed on or around October 31, 1987, when it relocated to San Jacinto Shopping Center.
