Fort Street is a major north-south road, part of which is in the city of Lincoln Park, Michigan. It is equivalent to 1300 in Lincoln Park's addressing system, that is, buildings along cross streets immediately west of Fort have street addresses beginning with 1300. For its entire length in the city of Lincoln Park, Fort Street carries M-85.
History[edit | edit source]
In 2005, starting on July 15 of that year, as part of a repaving project along Fort Street between Goddard Road and Schaefer Highway, the curve at Champaign Road was completely rebuilt. The previous curve was highly sharp and thus jeopardized safety, but the new curve provided a smoother flow.[2]
