The store opened on October 12, 1978 as one of seven stores to open that day for a total of 1,461 Kmart's overall. It was also tied with Kmart 3491 for the 71st Kmart in Texas.[1] On June 11, 1999, the store would be converted to Big Kmart with the renovations completed in August of that year.[2] The store ultimately closed on June 2, 2002.[3][4]
