The store opened on October 12, 1978 as one of seven stores to open that day for a total of 1,461 Kmart's overall, and was tied with Kmart 3491 for the 71st Kmart in Texas.[1] In 1992, the store would be remodeled with a grand re-opening ceremony on July 26.[2] In 1999, the store would be converted to Big Kmart.[3] The store ultimately closed on June 2, 2002.[4][5]
