The store opened on August 3, 1967 as one of the first two Kmart's in El Paso, along with Kmart 4205.[1] In 1991, the store would be expanded into the former Kmart Foods from a pre-1972 full-size model Kmart with the renovations completed on October 10 of that year.[2] In 1999, the store would be converted to Big Kmart with the renovations completed on June 12 of that year.[3] The store ultimately closed on March 26, 2017.[4][5]
