Kmart #4302 was a Kmart discount department store located at Kmart Plaza, 6327 Stewart Road in Galveston, Texas. The store opened on July 17, 1969 as the 295th Kmart in just seven years.[1] In 1993, the store was expanded from a pre-1972 full-size model Kmart, with the renovations completed on July 2 of that year.[2] In 1997, the store would be converted to Big Kmart, with a grand re-opening ceremony on November 14 of that year.[3] The store ultimately closed on April 13, 2003.[4][5]
