Kmart #4354 was a Kmart discount department store located at Kmart Plaza, 6701 University Avenue in Lubbock, Texas. The store opened on May 18, 1970 as the 28th Kmart in Texas, and was one of three stores to open that day for a total of 358 Kmart's overall.[1] It was originally planned to open on May 14,[2] but the opening was delayed due to a major tornado that struck the city on May 12. The store ultimately closed on July 9, 1995 when it was replaced by Kmart #4972.[3][4]
