Kmart #4354 was a Kmart discount department store located at Kmart Plaza, 6701 University Avenue in Lubbock, Texas.[1] The store was originally planned to open on May 14,[2] but the opening was delayed to May 18,[3] due to a major tornado that struck the city on May 12. It was the 29th Kmart in Texas, and the 357th Kmart overall. The store ultimately closed on July 9, 1995, when it was replaced by Kmart #4972.[4][5]
